1965 SHELBY GT 350 “BARN FIND” Minor resto by Galpin Auto Sports. Lee Iacocca introduced Carroll Shelby to Bert Boeckmann in the early 1960s. Carroll was quoted in an interview at SEMA 2008: “Lee said ‘Make sure you do business with this man because he’s great!”’ He went on to say, “We started building a few of the (Cobras) in England and Bert and Bob Tasca on the East Coast were the two people who got behind it. If they hadn’t gotten behind it, probably nobody would have heard of the Cobra.” Galpin’s relationship with friend and business partner Carroll Shelby includes an awesome series of FIRSTS: the auto icon himself selected Galpin Ford as the first dealership in California and exclusive Valley dealer to merchandise his fabled Shelby Cobra, and Galpin sponsored the first Shelby Cobra Club as well as the first Mustang Owners Club! Pictured here is the 1965 Shelby GT350 “Barn Find” originally sold to Galpin Ford in San Fernando. Having been stored and forgotten about for 40 years, Galpin Classic Auto service got it running to perfection while preserving all of the amazing patina!
